Jake James – Count It Slow

NY-newcomer Jake James has released his new single and video “Count It Slow” via Encore Music Group. The larger-than-life visual finds Jake in true Wolf Of Wall Street form rapping on his earnings from a bird’s-eye-view of Manhattan. Co-produced by GRAMMY award winners, Street Symphony (Nipsey Hussle, Meek Mill, Dave East) and Dirty Rice (Lecrae, Andy Mineo) “Count It Slow” is true to Jake’s signature sound, showcasing his lyrical prowess and dexterity. Found on Jake’s upcoming project, The Earnings Season, executive produced by Street Symphony and slated for release next month, “Count It Slow” is available everywhere now – watch the video above.

The Earnings Season’s first offering, “High Grade,” (198k views) released at the top of November, finds Jake channeling rock influences and describing the pitfalls of chasing stardom. Fresh off the release of Jake’s debut EP, Letter Of Intent, the new melodic single is a change of pace from his signature New York boom-bap leaning sound, highlighting his versatility and range as an artist. Wall Street finance guy by day, rapper by night, Jake James continues to log long hours analyzing currencies and foreign markets to fund and pursue his musical aspirations.

More on Jake James:
Investment banker by day, rapper by night. Coming up in rural upstate New York, pursuing music was low on Jake’s list of career paths. His love for writing began at five and he recalls writing poetry as his parents played Jazz and Soul oldies.

Jake figured that education would be his easiest way out. At fifteen, he used his top-tier SAT scores to apply for college and was accepted. In college, Jake studied finance, ran his own small equity fund and began touring small shows in various markets, opening for notable established acts, including G-Unit, Dave East and Moneybagg Yo. Eventually Jake organically sold-out NYC’s legendary venue, SOB’s on his own. Jake’s talent has garnered the attention and respect of acclaimed producer Statik Selektah and even the iconic Notorious B.I.G.’s producer, Buckwild.

From public housing to portfolios, Jake has an unthinkable story to tell, with the release of his debut EP in September and more new music on the way, Jake is poised to be a top performer in 2022.
